Why AWOL?

Alice Hodgson, awolwithalice.comSometimes you just have to go with your instincts, put your desires into action  and pack those bags.  Having spent four years living in Ireland, that’s  exactly what I did in 2013. After backpacking around South East Asia and experiencing expat life in Cambodia,  I’m finally back in London, ready to tell the tale.

Awolwithalice is about uncovering new places and rediscovering those we’ve become accustomed to. I will be providing some creative travel content, colourful observations, holiday reviews, travel advice and the latest developments from within the travel industry.

One of the wonderful bi-products of world travel is becoming increasingly open-minded and gaining a better understanding of the world around us. You will find a growing ‘Charity‘ section on awolwithalice, covering the work of international NGOs and homegrown charities on issues such as the environment, arts and culture, education, development and more. Things that everyone needs to know about.

It’s Time to go AWOL…

Feeling uninspired? It’s never too late to stash the cash, tie up loose ends and make a break for it. With the help of awolwithalice, you can break free from routine and broaden your horizon. Whether you opt for a UK getaway, luxury holiday, or backpacking on a shoe string,  travel gives you the freedom to conquer new heights of happiness. And maybe you can give a little back along the way?

For those who are more rooted: never stop exploring. You don’t have to go far to travel and it doesn’t take a lot to make a difference. Simply open your eyes and act. Challenge yourself to try new things — adventure is all around us.
